Contact me

Give me a call or send me an email

When you initially make contact with me, I ask you to include briefly what you’re hoping to explore in therapy sessions, what days and times you’re available and how soon you’re looking to start. I’ll respond within 48 hours.

We can then arrange a 20 minute introductory call to find out more about what you’re looking for and I can share a bit more about how I work. There’s no charge for this.

After that I recommend booking in one or two trial exploratory sessions of 50 minutes, charged at my usual rate of £80. These can be a great opportunity to see if you feel comfortable working with me and for me to ensure I’m well placed to support you. You can tell me more about what brings you to therapy and what your hopes are as well as ask any questions you may have. I’ll also talk through the way I work. There’s no obligation to continue afterwards and I can help with onward referrals if I feel I don’t have the specific expertise you’re looking for.

I feel it’s really important to find the right therapist, someone you feel at ease with, and also to be sure that the practicalities of time, day and location work well for you.

My sessions are all held during the working day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I’m not available to see clients in the evening.

Our initial session

I always recommend booking one session first of all so we can establish if you and I both feel we can work well together. I take my ethical responsibility to prospective clients seriously so it may be that there are issues you’re confronting that I think require specialist or different expertise than mine. An onward referral will never be a personal rejection, just making sure you are getting the best possible support. Equally you may decide that I’m not quite right for you and that’s totally fine.

After the initial session

If you decide to go ahead with therapy, we’ll either agree that you have a specific area you’d like to focus on in shorter-term work, usually at least 12 to 16 weekly sessions, or we decide for weekly long-term therapy which is more open-ended, exploratory and wide-ranging.

Committing to therapy

Therapy is a commitment. It isn’t necessarily always easy, but in my experience it can be deeply rewarding, enriching and life-enhancing. Therapy works best if you can commit to attending your sessions at the weekly appointment time dedicated for you. Sessions last 50 minutes.
